Quakers stay undefeated after win over Icehawks

The Prince Albert Icehawks couldn’t pull off an upset over the AGI Insurance Quakers from Saskatoon. The Quakers improved to 6-0 and are the only undefeated left in the Prairie Junior Hockey League. The Icehawks are still at .500 through seven games played with a 3-3-0-1 record

Rhett Kehoe scored a hat trick and added an assist in the game for the visiting Quakers.

Jack Green and Brendon Boyer had a goal and an assist each for the Icehawks.

The Icehawks were down 3-1 after the first period and were outshot 15-4. Rhett Kehoe, Terrin Belosowsky and MacArthur Bell scored for the visiting Quakers, before Icehawks captain Jack Green scored with 14 seconds left in the period.

The Quakers extended their lead to 4-1 as Rhett Kehoe scored to start the second, but Brendon Boyer gave the Icehawks life, making it 4-2 heading into the third.

Kehoe completed his hat trick to start the third period, with Jared Hillis adding another to make it 6-2 Quakers. Icehawk Braeden Mishak scored at the five-minute mark to make it a 6-3 game.

The Quakers feature two former Mintos in Dalin Graham and last year’s captain Brody Reimer. Quakers defenceman Bryson Aistine, who’s from Prince Albert was a Mintos call-up earlier in his career before playing his Midget AAA hockey for the Beardy’s Blackhawks.
