Bears beat Sharks; tied for first with 5 wins
The Prince Albert A&W Bears climbed up to first place in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League on Wednesday.
They beat the Battlefords Sharks 4-1 at the Art Hauser Centre to improve their record to five regulation wins and two losses. The Bears are now tied with the Saskatoon Stars in both wins and points, but the Stars have a game in hand.
Kassidy Kicia kicked off the scoring for the Bears in the first period. The Sharks tied it in the second, courtesy of rookie Jordan Kulbida.
The Bears went to town in the third period, with goals from Jaydn Kushinurk, Jordan Ashe and Kayla MacNab. For Ashe, that’s her first goal in 37 career games with the Bears. It’s MacNab’s first in 35 games.
