It is said that kids learn fast, but every once in a while, a child comes along and stuns everyone with nearly instant and incredible talent.

That has been the case for Jonathan Winterhawk Daniels, a 12 year old fiddle player who recently moved to Prince Albert with his parents Leonard and Mary Daniels from the far north of Manitoba: Pukatawagan, 120 knotical air miles north of The Pas.

Jonathan, who has been jigging for several years, decided to pick up the fiddle one day about 10 months ago and the music came instantly and easily.

“I’m a fiddle player too,” says his father, Leonard, a well respected professional musician. “but he picked up the fiddle and he just started to play it and he hardly puts it down.”
