P.A. Alert officially open to RM of Prince Albert
Prince Albert’s emergency mass notification system, P.A. Alert, will now be available for people in the Rural Municipality of Prince Albert.
City council passed the recommendation earlier this week to extend the boundaries of the alert system after the RM requested to be included in the program.
In case of an emergency, P.A. Alert sends messages to registered residents through text, email, fax or even through pagers. According to deputy fire chief Corey Rodgers, the alert system will mostly be used for fire hazards, hazardous material releases or anything that requires evacuation.
Since the system began in the city last summer, over 2,000 people have registered for the service.
