Big River hopes to attract health care workers with amateur video contest

Buckingham said the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region determines the need, and available budget for hiring. He said there wasn’t a specific type of worker that the town would be targeting through the video.

“When there is opportunity and we need people we would like them to be able to see what we have to offer so that they may consider this area for long-term.”

Buckingham said the town has a lot to offer in terms of recreation and attractions. He hopes by promoting those things health care workers will be encouraged to set down roots in Big River.

He said the video could be beneficial to the entire region.

“And not only for our care facility here, but also any one in the region,” said Buckingham, “Even the Prince Albert region, if we showcase our area, we may bring in doctors even if they end up being in Prince Albert, for example.”

The town is asking people to “capture the beauty of Big River.” The best video submission will win a prize basket consisting of a 2016 golf membership and a 2016 ski membership.

Those interested in taking part can send their videos to Box 475 in Big River.
