Golfers in the community played for a cause on Saturday in the Charlie’s Angels Golf Tournament.

For the second year in a row, 64 women took to the greens of the Mark’s Nine Golf Course to raise funds for the Prince Albert SPCA.

Holly Abrey-Hare, spokesperson for the tournament, said the amount of support means a lot to them.

She said she hopes they can help the displaced and abandoned animals living at Prince Albert SPCA in their friend’s memory.

“We lost a dear friend to cancer and she was all about pets and animals,” said Abrey-Hare.

In total, $13,974 was raised at this year’s tournament. There was an overwhelming support in terms of sponsorship, gifts for raffle and prizes for each hole in the event.

Abrey-Hare said they were super excited their fundraising efforts exceeded last year’s event.

“We’re very happy that we can help with more things the SPCA needs,” said Abrey-Hare. “Many thanks go to all the sponsors, participants and everyone else involved to make this happen.”

‘Gold Paw Sponsors’ include Mark’s Nine Golf Course and the staff from Canadian Tire.
