Jul 18, 2015 | 8:37 AM

It’s set to be a day of family fun in Waskesiu on Saturday.

As part of this year’s Parks Day celebrations on July 18, Prince Albert’s National Park and the Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Children’s Festival on the same day.

The festivities serve as a great opportunity for families and other visitors to the park to enjoy a variety of hands on activities that help get them back in touch with nature.

Access to the park is free for the day and registered participants can pick up their event passports either at the Parks Canada tent, Chamber of Commerce office or under the discovery dome.

There will be a total of 15 activity stations set up around the Waskesiu town site that participants can enjoy and take part in including a paddle board demo, metis story-telling, face painting and more.

Those that get at least 50 per cent of their passport stamped will then be eligible to receive a 50 per cent discount for the 7 p.m. showing of Inside Out at the Waskesiu Theatre.

The 23rd annual Children’s Festival will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. The Spirits of the Park street theatre program will also perform later in the evening along the sidewalk by the main beach at 7 p.m.
