Canada Day Celebration in PA Cancelled Until Further Notice

Jun 30, 2015 | 12:03 PM

Due to smoke and air quality concerns, 2015 Canada Day celebrations in Kinsmen Park will be cancelled for July 1, 2015.  The Prince Albert Multicultural Council, the PA Royal Canadian Legion, and the City of Prince Albert will work together to hold the event at a later date.

Our thoughts are with our northern neighbours affected by the many forest fires in their respective communities.  We hope for safety for all, for families, their communities, and for all those fighting fires, volunteering and supporting in the region.

See the press release (below) from the City of Prince Albert.  Please see our Prince Albert Multicultural Council Facebook page for updates on a future date:https://goo.gl/wiyqJU

Update – Outdoor Activities at City Facilities Continue to be Cancelled Until Further Notice

Canada Day Celebrations at Kinsmen Park Cancelled

The City of Prince Albert would like to advise the public that air quality due to heavy smoke in the area has not improved to a point where outdoor activities at City facilities are safe. Therefore, all outdoor activities continue to be cancelled until further notice. This includes activities at Kinsmen Water Park, City Sports Fields, paddling pools and spray parks, Cooke Municipal Golf Course and City parks. The City can also confirm that Canada Day celebrations in Kinsmen Park have been cancelled and are expected to be rescheduled for a later date.

Air quality is being monitored on a day-to-day basis and an update will be provided once it is safe to resume activities. For further health related information, please see the Air Quality Alert issued by the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region.
