‘Spectacular’ run for Atchison in Mayor’s Marathon
With an energetic stride, Saskatoon Mayor Don Atchison crossed the finish line of the first Mayor’s Marathon Sunday afternoon at Wanuskewin Heritage Park.
Atchison still had some energy 58 km after hitting the pavement at 1 a.m. at the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.
“I have to confess… I sure am happy we are at the other end,” the mayor joked after finishing the race.
Atchison, his running coach Lyndon Smith, and a few others hit the road and ran through a “spectacular sunrise” and the Whitecap Park, which Atchison said was “a little damp”.
