The 6th Annual Fore for Pets Celebrity Golf Tournament is back for another year.

The tournament will be held July 22 and 23 at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course.

Sherry Ouellette, director of events for the Prince Albert SPCA, said they have a huge roster of celebrities for this year’s event.

“My favorite kind of celebrity this year that puts a unique spin on it for us is we have some eye candy for the ladies. We have the winner of the America’s Next Top Model Keith Carlos and one of the players in that Matthew Smith.”

UFC fighter Mitch Clarke, who is the UFC’s only fighter from Saskatchewan, will be in attendance.

“Every year one of the big draws … is we have some of these (Playboy) playmates come and this year will be no exception – there are some beautiful women coming,” Ouellette said.

Just to name a few of the beautiful ladies that will be there: international playmate and TV host for the fight network Priscilla Caripan will be there; along with Playboy playmate Jessica Canizales; and model/actress Rachelle Leah.

Ouellette said there will also be some Saskatchewan Roughrider alumni coming, including Andrew Greene and Dan Rashovich.

Country artist Charlie Major will also be there, along with a number of Olympic athletes and TV personalities.

Ouellette said she’s still working on possibly bringing out an NHL player or a Blue Jays player.

She said you can keep track of the celebrities coming by checking their website.

“This is always and forever for the animals. I’m always trying to raise money and awareness about the animals. It’s a cause near and dear to my heart.”

The money raised through the tournament will go towards helping fund the mortgage of the new Prince Albert SPCA shelter and the ongoing care of the animals.

“It’s an amazing event. If people haven’t experienced it it’s incredible. And for the people who have, they come back again because it’s really well organized and it is just a fun, unique experience because of all the vendors out on the golf course and all the different food and interaction as there is.”

She said the celebrities will be out on the golf course to mix and mingle with the players with each celebrity placed at a different hold along the course.

“As you golf all day long you’re intermingling with all the celebrities and visiting all the sponsors’ places, tasting their food, having a drink, it’s fantastic.”

The registration fee includes a lot of extra goodies other than playing in the tournament.

On Wednesday, July 22 there will be a banquet and auction for all teams to attend.

The banquet will feature auction items like signed jerseys from Wendel Clark and Mike Modano, as well as an autographed jacket from Don Cherry.

Teams will receive tickets to the banquet and will be fed breakfast the morning of the tournament, followed by a beef on a bun event after the tournament is over.

There will also be food sponsors located along the course the day of the tournament, plus teams will get to mingle with the celebs on the course.

There is even a VIP event where Ouellette said for those teams that spend $2,500 instead of the $2,000 registration fee, they will get tickets to the VIP event which will be held before the banquet.

“The VIP is one-on-one with the celebrities and having food and drink before the banquet, and we have a live auction.”

There are four hole-in-one sponsors this year.

Econo Lumber, Cornerstone Insurance and Leon’s Furniture in Prince Albert are all offering $25,000 shopping sprees.

The fourth sponsor, Rally Motorsports, is offering up a $60,000 Lund fishing boat.

“I’m hoping this is the year there’s a hole-in-one ‘cause that would really set this apart.”

The golf tournament will be held on Thursday, July 23.

There are still openings for teams to join and Ouellette said it’s not an invite-only tournament so anyone can register a team.

Registration for a team of four is $2,000 and teams can register through the tournament’s website.
