Celtics come out on top

Jun 7, 2015 | 9:38 AM

The Prince Albert U-16 Celtic girls came up with a win at Prime Ministers Park on Saturday.

The afternoon game ended with a 4-0 win over Regina’s Queen City United Soccer Club.

There next game is Sunday against Aurora.

Also Saturday afternoon, the Celtic boys kept on their winning ways, defeating Aurora Elite 2 to 1.

Aurora started off the scoring with a strike from Brad Skorski midway through the first half.  The game remained 1 nil until late in the half when Adam Paziuk made a pass to Landon Doell who made a nice volley to tie the score at 1.

The second half had some great chances with Corbyn Morgan hitting a one-time ball that went off the keeper and glanced the far post.  Midway through the second half Celtic pulled ahead on a great pass from Landon Doell to Brady Watchel who buried the ball in the far corner past the Aurora keeper.

Celtic now have two wins and a draw and sit atop the table in the provincial league.  Next action will be June 20th in Regina vs QC United.

The U-14 Celtic girls also played on Saturday.  They lost 2-0 to Aurora.
