Thousands of chickens hit the ditch near Wadena

RCMP are investigating a chicken situation after a truck ended up in the ditch on the way to Saskatoon.
The 27-year-old man driving was hauling 6,500 birds from Canora on Highway 5 early Tuesday morning.
At one point between Wadena and Kylemore, the vehicle went onto the shoulder of the highway. When the driver tried to pull the truck back on the road, the load shifted and spilled several crates of live chickens into the ditch.
The man escaped the incident alive but with injuries. Sadly, some chickens weren’t so lucky. Those that survived were recovered by the company that owned them.
