Lights on at Victoria Hospital
Power was up and running at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday night, with the information technology systems restored just over an hour later at 1:11 a.m. at the Victoria Hospital.
Overnight two replacement transformers were installed at the hospital after a transformer failed Tuesday afternoon, causing a power outage.
According to the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region (PAPHR), maintenance staff and a contractor installed the replacement transformers, which handle the essential power grid at the hospital.
“Thank you to all of the staff who worked into the late evening and early morning hours to restore these functions and to those who worked late to bring your areas back to regular functioning. It was a great team effort in difficult circumstances,” said Carol Gregoryk, Vice-President Integrated Health Services, in a statement.
