P.A. hit with robberies around the city over the weekend

Prince Albert Police responded to 192 calls for service over the weekend, which include three separate incidents involving thefts on Saturday.

At around 1:30 a.m., police were called to the 200 block of 15th Street West where a victim had been robbed of jewelry.

Police quickly found and arrested the suspect and the jewelry was returned to its owner.

A 21-year-old man arrested in connection to the incident will make a court appearance on Monday.

At around 3 p.m. on Saturday, police were flagged down by a person in the Cornerstone area, where two men had allegedly stolen items from a store.

Police chased the suspects on foot, before catching and arresting them. A 26 year-old man and a 33-year-old man were arrested and the stolen items were returned to the business.

And on Saturday, at about 11 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of 19th Street West where a victim had been robbed of cash.

Police arrested a 35-year-old woman and the money was returned to the victim.

Police also responded to a car accident in the 2900 block of Sixth Avenue West early Sunday morning. At around 2:30 a.m., they received a report that a vehicle hit a telephone pole.

On Sunday around 2:30 a.m. police were called to an accident in the 2900 block of Sixth Avenue West where a single vehicle hit a telephone pole.

The force of the impact snapped the pole and the top half of the pole was left dangling from the power lines.

SaskPower employees were called in to fix the pole. Police continue to investigate what led to the accident.

This weekend, Parkland Ambulance paramedics responded to 52 incidents.

On of those incidents involved a pedistrian who had been struck by a vehicle at the corner of First Avenue West and River Street West. Paramedics took a man to Victoria Hospital with minor injuries.
