May 13 – Evening Bluegrass Show: Come for an exciting night of live bluegrass. It will be an evening of hot instrumentals, tight harmony and toe tapping with friends. 

May 13, 8pm at Saint Joseph Parish Hall on Broadway & Eighth, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan will be a performance with a cash bar. Tickets: $20 at the door.

In addition to the concerts The Lonely Heartstring Band will also be conducting nine school visits in the Saskatoon area. Each visit will include a workshop session about bluegrass music and bluegrass instruments. The band will demonstrate each of the instruments separately and then show the classes how the instruments all layer together in a band. They’ll also include a session on bluegrass singing and how harmony parts work together. The band will finish each visit with a concert.

The Northern Lights Bluegrass & Old Tyme Music Society  is a non-profit society of members who promote bluegrass and old time music within Saskatchewan and beyond. We host an annual Festival and Music Camp every August and during the year we keep ourselves busy with old time dances, concerts, jams, potlucks and other community events.
