Saskatchewan RCMP are reminding people to only call 911 in an emergency after several calls received recently didn’t fit the bill.

The calls came in as follows:

-RCMP in the south district received a 911 call for police assistance to a residence. Caller dialed 911 because they wanted to report that their neighbour was flying the Canadian flag incorrectly.

-RCMP in the north district received a call for assistance as the caller’s son advised he had spotted a sasquatch and had later found its droppings. The sasquatch was described as over eight feet tall.

-RCMP in the south district received a call for police assistance as the caller complained someone had placed a caramel pudding on their table and they felt it had been poisoned. Caller ate the pudding anyways, didn’t get sick, but stated they had a good “movement.”

-RCMP in the south district received a call for police assistance to remove handcuffs from a cat’s neck. Children in the house were playing with the cat and locked one of the bracelets around the cat’s neck and were unable to remove it as they did not have a key. Caller soaped up the cat’s neck in an effort to remove the handcuffs.

End result: Cat was freed by member’s handcuff key, cat was not injured.

-RCMP in the south district received a call for police assistance to a restaurant. Caller had flushed their keys down the toilet and needed help retrieving them.

-RCMP in the north district received a 911 call to a residence. It was determined some children had dialed 911 because they were playing cops and robbers.

-RCMP in the north district received a 911 call from a child who called because his brother wouldn’t wake up to make him noodles.
