A magical night makes its way to P.A.

Nov 29, 2014 | 2:02 PM

Winnipeg’s Darcy Oake’s claim to fame was wowing the judges on Britain’s Got Talent with his mind bending illusions.

Oake, whose early audition on Britain’s Got Talent was making women and doves appear out of thin air, will be taking the stage at the E.A Rawlinson Centre to perform on Jan.15, 2015.  The event is put on by the Northern Lights Casino.

“We thought it would be a great show because you don’t see that type of a show in Prince Albert very often,” said Paul Lomheim, marketing coordinator with the Northern Lights Casino.

Lomheim said the Northern Lights Casino has had other events take place at the E.A Rawlinson Centre before but faced a bit of a hiccup while planning this event.

“Originally there was a hold on that date and whoever had the hold on it let it go so we were able to grab that,” he said.

Lomheim said since two of their Casinos have lower ceilings, Oake would not be able to perform some of his illusions. He said the E.A Rawlinson Centre will be a good location for Prince Albert’s event because of their high ceilings.

“We’re going to get the full blown deal, like what you see on TV,” he said.

Lomheim said there were two things that drew them to bring Darcy Oake to Prince Albert to put on the event.

“The caliber of his magician ship and that he’s been on Britain’s Got Talent. Also bringing in something to Prince Albert that Prince Albert hasn’t seen for a while,” he said. “This is basically world class.”

Tickets are $45.00 each and are available at the Northern Lights Casino box office, the E.A Rawlinson Centre box office or either of their websites.
