Apr 15, 2012 | 11:59 AM

The Humboldt Broncos blanked the Weyburn Red Wings 6-0 on Friday night in Weyburn to win the Canalta Cup (SJHL championship) in six games. It's the fourth SJHL title in six years for the Broncos.

Andrew Johnston scored three goals while Matt Hrynkiw stopped all 21 shots he faced. Robbie Ciolfi, Matt Glowa and Emrik Guillemette rounded out the scoring for Humboldt. Red Wings goaltender Mitch Kilgore stopped 27 shots in his final SJHL game.

The Broncos will now take on the defending Anavet Cup Champion Portage Terriers, in the last ever Anavet Cup, before the four Western leagues move to the Western Canada Cup format next year. Humboldt's win also ensures that Portage will also receive a berth into the RBC in Humboldt, regardless how the Anavet finishes.

Games 1 and 2 of the Anavet Cup will be played in Humboldt Apr. 20 and 21.
