Dry conditions in Saskatchewan’s north increase forest fire risk

Dry conditions in Saskatchewan’s north are adding to a forest fire risk for an area that already has two active fires.

Provincial Wildland Fire Co-ordinator Brent Krayetski says there hasn't been enough rain in northern Saskatchewan.

“At the moment, we have some dry conditions in the north and in the last few days with the higher-than-normal winds, we have had some issues with some fires,” said Krayetski.

According to Krayetski, the Prince Albert Fire Control Centre is currently monitoring two fires that were started by lightning.
