Manicke to perform “Superhuman” feat

When it comes to bringing the house down, no one is better than Wolfgang Manicke.

The owner of ATC Martial Arts holds the Guinness record for demolishing a house with a martial arts team, performing the feat in two hours and 14 minutes. He and his team have also been featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

“We actually demolish a house by hand and foot. We go inside, and punch and kick it down,” said Manicke.

Now, Stan Lee wants to document the feat on his “Superhumans” show. Lee is the creator of such superheroes as Spider-Man and the X-Men, and his show highlights “those with unique genetic traits that translates into remarkable powers”.

“This one is more like, they want to see the human aspect behind it,” said Manicke. “The power, how we’re going to do, the strength and balance and stuff like that.”

Unlike Lee’s superheroes, Manicke and his group don’t have super strength or steel-like skin, so punching down walls is a bit tougher for them than it would be for someone like the Incredible Hulk.

“It’s really painful,” said Manicke. “We’re going to be wearing running shoes, because you step constantly in nails, so running shoes will stop that. And you wear hand wraps for the slivers, but the nails will go right through. People have had strained hands, bad toes, bad feet,” said Manicke.

The scheduled shoot is on April 14 and 15.
