Regina is getting ready to welcome the world. The Ford World Men's Curling Championships kicks off Saturday, Apr. 2, and organizers are putting the finishing touches on the tournament's preparation.

The international team will arrive in Regina on Tuesday, Team Norway, followed by the French, who have been training in Calgary in preparation of the event.

Derek Boe, chairman of the local organizing committee, says the ice was put in at Brandt Centre over the weekend.

Boe also says ticket sales have been strong for the opening draw and the finals. Many of the tickets have been bought by Manitobans, who are coming to support Canadian skip, Jeff Stoughton, who’s from Winnipeg.
