Major gang bust in Saskatoon

Saskatoon Police have delivered a major blow to a prominent street gang.

Officers have made 14 arrests of people all said to be part of a group, who call themselves the Terror Squad.

Gang activity is growing in the city, said Inspector Jeff Bent said.

“We have a strong economy and with a strong economy we have disposable income and they want a piece of that,” he said.

The arrests come after a five-and-half month long investigation.

Police have their hands full in keeping up with gang activity, dial dope operations in particular, Bent said.

“They are rolling in here over the last couple of years at an alarming rate.”

The suspects range in age from 17 to 45 and include a current high-ranking member of the gang.
