
Raiders land a spot in the playoffs win with a score of 6-3 against Swift Current
The Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Swift Current Broncos 6-3 in front of a capacity crowd of 3066 on Friday to clinch a spot in the playoffs for the first time since the 2006-2007 season.
Austin Connor opened the scoring for the Raiders just two minutes into the game to give the Raiders an early 1-0 lead. The Broncos responded just 16 seconds later to tie the game at one before the game was three minutes old.
Jonathan Parker scored his 45th of the year and Antoine Corbin notched a power play goal before the first was over to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead heading in the 2nd.
Rookie Todd Fiddler notched his 22nd goal and Justin Maylan scored his first of two in the game to start the second period and got the Raiders up 5-1, six minutes into the second. The Broncos again responded quickly though, cutting the Raider lead to three 17 seconds later. Justin Maylan scored the Raiders second power play goal of the game before the second was out to give the Raiders a 6-2 lead heading into the second.
