Update: La Ronge fire cause found

The cause has been discovered in Tuesday night's fatal house fire in La Ronge.

“There (were) three fire scene examiners there and we all concurred that it … was caused in some way, shape or form, by the wood burning appliance in there,” said Ron Pratt, fire chief of the La Ronge Regional Fire Department.

RCMP received a call at 7 p.m. regarding a fire at a residence on the 101 First Nation, part of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

The investigation has confirmed that a 32-year-old man from La Ronge was unable to escape the residence and was declared dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
