RCMP resume search for Rob Vicente at location near Davidson

Jan 22, 2011 | 10:12 AM

For the second time, Mounties have searched a property in Davidson in the disappearance of Rob Vicente.

RCMP Major Crimes executed a search warrant at the rural property right off of Highway 44 on Thursday. The same property was previously searched Dec. 21.

“They did find some items that may be of interest to the investigation and they were there for a considerable amount of time, most of the day (Thursday),” said Sgt. Paul Dawson. He did not elaborate on what was found and it's not known for sure that the items are related to the case.

Dawson says Mounties were lead back to the property by tips that came in to police from the public.

“We follow the evidence, we continue on with the investigation and we follow where it takes and that's where we are at this stage of the investigation,” he said adding Mounties are done searching the property on that specific warrant, but if more information comes to light they could return to that location or any other.

While he couldn't say who the property belongs to, he did say they were co-operative.

Vincente, 25, hasn't been seen or heard from since Oct. 10, 2010 in the Davidson/Bladworth area. On Oct. 12, 2010, Vicente's black 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LT was found by Craik RCMP completely destroyed by fire.

Since Vicente's disappearance, RCMP have executed several search warrants in the Davidson-area and family and friends have organized many ground searches with little results.

Anyone with information about Vincente's disappearance is asked to contact Craik RCMP (306-734-5200) or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).
