Raiders Hold Off Wheat Kings In Shoot Out
Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders defeat the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-2 in a six round shoot out. The Wheat Kings tied the game in the dying seconds of the 3rd period to tie it at two but the Raiders would hold out for the victory and earn the two point
The Raiders opened the scoring at 9:39 of the first period when an Igor Revenko slap shot from the hash marks was tipped by Mark McNeill past Wheat King goaltender Corbin Boes.
The Raiders would extend their lead to two before the period was over with a power play tally at 14:27. Ryan Button would feed a pass to fellow defenceman Jordan Rowley who had crept into the Wheat King zone and was positioned on the ringette line along the boards to the left of goaltender Boes. Rowley would make no mistake on the one timer and beat Boes for his first of the season and give the Raiders a 2-0 lead heading into the 3rd.
Ryan Button would feed a pass to fellow defenceman Jordan Rowley who was on the ringette line along the boards. Rowley one timed the Button pass past Boes for his first of the year, giving the Raiders a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.
