One dead after Humboldt carbon monoxide leak

Dec 29, 2010 | 5:42 AM

An elderly man living in a Humboldt seniors’ home has died just two days after a carbon monoxide leak.

While the man suffered from several chronic health conditions, the Saskatoon Health Region says his exposure to the gas was a factor in his death.

The man was one of 24 residents of St. Mary's Villa evacuated on Boxing Day after being exposed to the potentially deadly gas.

Dr. David Poulin, with Saskatoon Health, said there were no carbon monoxide detectors in the home.
