ROBERT E MALTMAN HIRED AS FULL TIME TECHNICAL DIRECTOR FOR

PRINCE ALBERT YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION

Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association (PAYSA) is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Robert (Bob) E Maltman as full-time Technical Director of soccer operations for youth soccer in Prince Albert.

PAYSA, affiliated with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA), is responsible for providing youth soccer opportunities in this district and is committed to enhancing the quality of both recreational and competitive youth soccer programs in Prince Albert.

Central to this objective is developing a strong technical foundation for grass roots soccer programs first, and then providing high level, consistent direction and support for competitive programs.

The soccer program in Prince Albert has reached an evolutionary point where there is a need to establish a consistent, progressive and systematic approach to technical development that will create the best possible environment for the optimum development of the players and coaches.

After an extensive search for suitable candidates to lead the development of soccer operations, PAYSA has secured the services of this highly qualified individual.

“This is a great strategic fit for building the sport in Prince Albert through developing and implementing age appropriate training programs consistent with the national Long Term Player Development model.

Prince Albert is blessed with a great soccer community with a passion for soccer; has a state of the art building in which our athletes can grow and learn; and now the third part of the triangle for success is securing high quality technical direction and leadership.

Mr. Maltman is that man” said Rory McIntosh, President of PAYSA.

There is no question as to Mr. Maltman’s ability to further develop and direct the path for soccer in Prince Albert.

Mr. Maltman, currently the head coach for the University of Regina Cougars women’s varsity soccer program, is also a National level coach with youth programs, and draws from over 22 years of direct soccer experience in Saskatchewan.

Mr. Maltman has a proven track record of successfully building soccer programming and designing technical programs and will be the cornerstone for promoting soccer in our community and directing the future of youth soccer in Prince Albert.

“State-of-the-Art soccer programming is not built overnight, said McIntosh.  Mr. Maltman has committed to an initial three- year tenure, with options to continue in the future.  This is a great day for PAYSA and a new beginning for soccer in Prince Albert.”
