Calgary police prepared for rowdy football fans

The long arm of the law will try to keep 35,000 fans in line at the Canadian Football League West Division final at Calgary's McMahon Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

“They're always spirited affairs between Calgary and Saskatchewan,” said Kevin Brookwell, spokesman for the Calgary Police Service.

He believes it's all about being ready. As many officers as possible will keep an eye on the fans at the big game.

“Like any game, we always prepare,” Brookwell said. “Patrols out in the parking lot beforehand, we have officers in the stands, officers at field level, and then, of course, officers after the game.”
