The Saskatchewan Roughriders have revealed their nominees for the CFL awards.

Leading the way for most outstanding player, for the second straight year, is quarterback Darian Durant. He has passed for 5,197 yards, the first Rider quarterback to throw for over 5,000 yards since Kent Austin back in 1993. He's also thrown 24 touchdowns.

Durant is happy with another nomination.

“I feel good,” said Durant. “To be considered two years in a row is special for me. It's a great accomplishment, but this wouldn't happen without my teammates, so I have to thank them,” he said.

Receiver Andy Fantuz is the nominee for most outstanding Canadian and he's pretty much a sure bet to claim the award with 82 catches for 1,303 yards and five touchdowns, including a 255 yard performance against Calgary back on Sept.17.

Fantuz is happy with the nomination, but knows he's up against some good competition.

“There's a few good candidates around the league,” said Fantuz. “A couple in particular would be up there like Kevin Eiben (linebacker for the Toronto Argonauts), and Dave Stala (Hamilton receiver) who are playing pretty well. We'll see how it goes.”

The other nominees are defensive back James Patrick up for most outstanding defensive player, Jeremy O'Day for most outstanding offensive lineman, Shomari Williams for most outstanding rookie, and punter Eddie Johnson for most outstanding special teams player.

The league winners will be announced during Grey Cup week
