Cause of fire electrical

The cause of Saturday's fire at Parkland Ambulance's storage facility has been discovered.

“The cause of the fire was an electrical problem with one of the vehicles stored in that facility,” said Lyle Karasiuk, with Parkland Ambulance.

The fire destroyed at least one of the ambulances, and Karasiuk said they are still assessing the other vehicles to determine which ones are usable and which are not.

No matter what, Karasiuk said they still have plenty of ambulances in Prince Albert to do their job.

“We are more than able to handle our day-to-day operations with the vehicles we have here,” he said.

Karasiuk said they won't know how much it will cost to repair the damages until the assessment is complete.
