11-year-old boy struck and killed by Saskatoon school bus

An 11-year-old boy is dead after he was struck by a school bus in a Saskatoon neighbourhood today.

Saskatoon police said the bus was traveling south on Valens Drive and went to turn eastbound onto 33rd Street when it hit the boy who was crossing 33rd at the time.

As of Tuesday morning, collision analysts were still on scene as the victim's body lay under a yellow sheet.

Investigators were seen taking photos of the school bus.

The public was advised to avoid the area of Valens Drive and Faulkner Crescent where both streets intersect with 33rd Street West.
