Thérèse Marie Ange Bédard was born on May 24, 1919 in Chicoutimi, Quebec to parents, Pierre and Anne Bedard (Boily). Thérèse passed away on March 26, 2017 at the age of 97 at the Mont St. Joseph Care Home in Prince Albert. She grew up on the family farm in Chicoutimi until she married Jean-Baptiste Boudreault and moved to Debden where they had 4 children. When Jean passed, her small family moved back to Chicoutimi to the family farm. Years later, she remarried to Edgar Fontaine and once again moved west, this time to Prince Albert. She loved family gatherings, spending time with family, gardening and cooking. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, devout Catholic, green thumb and a terrific cook.
Thérèse is survived by her children and step-children, Yvon Boudreault (Danielle), Paulyne Boudreault, Raymond Boudreault (Jocelyne), Leo Fontaine (Joanne), Bernice Fontaine and Carmelle Zurowski and her sister, Marianne Bédard. She is predeceased by her parents, Pierre Bedard (Anne Boily), first and second husbands, Edgar Fontaine and Jean-Baptiste Boudreault, her son, Alphonse Boudreault, step-son, Paul Fontaine and her siblings, Éphraim Bédard (Emérentienne), George Bédard (Yvette, Anne-Marie), Elyse Bédard (Wilbrod), Rosario Bédard (Laure), Germaine Bédard (Raymond), Marthe Bédard (Rene), Paul Simard, Léonce Boivin (Antoinette), Jean-Charles Boivin (Marie-Alice).
A funeral service will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel (575 28 Street West, Prince Albert, SK) on Wednesday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
