Hangover 3/Epic

Hangover 3

I had read some pretty bad reviews about this movie prior to watching it, so I can say with certainty now that some of these so-called professional critics have no sense of humour. This movie will by no means receive a “best picture” nominee but I was still thoroughly entertained.

“Hangover 3” does a pretty decent job tying all the movies together. The tricky part with sequels is making the next one better. The truth is, you can't. With the exception of Mike Tyson all the characters are back. Mr. Chow has escaped from prison and creates a big mess for the wolf pack. Zack Galifianakis is extremely funny. Based on one particular scene he has with Melissa McCarthy I am praying the two are casted in more movies together.

“Hangover 3” is a bit toned from its predecessors, but just enough to keep it 14+. There are still plenty of those “just plain wrong” scenes. The best five minutes of the movie may be in the scene after the credits roll, so don't leave too quickly.

Epic

This movie is a treat for both your imagination and your senses. The animation and 3D effects are off the charts. Having grown up watching “Astroboy”, I can't believe how far animation has come. I could practically smell the dew on the leaves.

“Epic” is a fun movie the whole family can enjoy. The story is basically about a war that is going on deep within the forest. Unbeknownst to human knowledge the very survival of the forest hangs in the balance.

Amanda Seyfried provides the voice for M.K., a teenage girl who goes to live with her eccentric father. When she is magically shrunken down to the size of an insect, she learns her father was right all along about a society of miniature people. She soon finds herself holding the future of the forest in her hands. Listen carefully for a few other recognizable voices including Colin Farrell, Beyonce, Steven Tyler, and Pitbull.

Ladies and gentlemen, the on-screen message about turning your cell phone off during the movie, is not a suggestion. Please have some respect!!!
