A fire inspector with Prince Albert's fire department could not say if a pair of vehicle fires in the city's midtown area Thursday, were suspicous in nature.

Quentin Roland told paNOW investigators would take a close look at both vehicles Friday afternoon.

The fire department was called to the 300-block of 8th St. E. at 5:50 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, crews found a car fully engulfed in flames, though the firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the vehicle. Then, just before 7 p.m., the department was alerted to a second vehicle fire in the 200-block of 13th St. E. This time, fire crews found a small fire that was extinguished by the owner. Fire crews sprayed some water on the area to ensure it was completely out.

Both vehicles were towed away and stored for further investigation. Roland could not say whether any connection between the two vehicle fires was suspected.
