New luxury boutique hotel slated for P.A.
An upscale, four-star Premier Best Western Hotel expected to employ upwards of 70 people upon completion was announced in a press conference this morning.
The $15 million project to be built on the south end of the city will house 82 luxury suites in a modern four-story structure. A new liquor store will also be on site alongside two empty lots for future development. These projects are expected to be announced later today.
“It is going to put our electricians, our plumbers our painters to work this winter. It was looking bleak for the winter and now we have a major project,” Mayor Greg Dionne said, adding some concessions by council were made but the details of which are not yet known.
Dionne said there are 3,400 Best Westerns in North America and only 25 Premier.
