Prince Albert Raiders import defenceman Vojtech Budik has been invited to the Czech Republic’s National Under-20 Training Camp.

Budik, who hails from Holice, played in 56 games for the Raiders this past season and set a new career high in assists and points, garnering 25 and 26 respectively. Last season, Budik was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.

This isn’t the first time the ’98-born defenceman has represented his country. He previously suited up for Czech Republic in the 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Toronto and Montreal and also played on the U16, U17 and U18 teams.

The Czech Ice Hockey Association will hold their camp in Rokycany and Salzburg from June 9 to 16.
