UPDATE: Police identify victim in first homicide of 2017

UPDATE: After autopsy, the victim has been identified as 34-year-old Damian Ballantyne. Police can confirm the two suspects in custody were known to the victim.

Two suspects are in custody after an early-morning homicide in Prince Albert, the city’s first murder of 2017.

Prince Albert Police officers responded to a call to a home in the 300 block of 9th St. E. shortly after 1 a.m. this morning to assist Parkland Ambulance paramedics with an unresponsive male. Patrol members attended the scene, but the 34-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
