Police seized more than 1,000 grams of cocaine on Sunday

Yesterday, the Prince Albert Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit arrested seven people who police say were involved in a sophisticated drug distribution network.

The arrests were made after a five month long investigation.

During the arrest the police seized 1,035 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of marijuana, roughly $30,000 in cash, four vehicles, an ATV and several electronics.

Thirty-two charges were laid.

Kole Marchant from Prince Albert was charged with conspiracy to traffic, possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of marijuana.

Alana Primeau from Prince Albert was charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Cody Evans from Prince Albert was charged with four counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000, three counts of possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Paige Klughart-McCormick from Prince Albert was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000 and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Jolie Bird from Little Red First Nations was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Salvin Mudaliar from Edmonton was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Yousef Ismaeil from Edmonton was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

All seven people appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Nov. 21. Six of them were remanded in Correctional Centres, one was released on a recognisance to appear later in court.

The investigation remains ongoing. All allegations have yet to be proven in court.
