Family of Mekayla Bali offer $25,000 for information leading to her whereabouts

The RCMP continues to search for missingYorkton teen Mekayla Bali.

Now her family is offering $25,000 for information that leads to her whereabouts.

“It helps us with hope that we will be able to find out what has happened to Mekayla and where she is right now,” Paula Bali, Mekayla’s mother, explained.

“We love her and we are desperate to ensure she is safe and that is the most important thing at this moment, to determine that she is safe.”

Mekayla has been missing since April 12, 2016. She was last seen at the Yorkton bus depot, although investigators have confirmed she did not get on a bus.

There has been no trace of her since.

An earlier plea from police this summer led to 130 tips coming in from as far away as B.C.

But the investigation is no further along.

The RCMP still want to identify an unknown man that was at the bus depot that April morning, although he is not considered a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

“Based on information that we have had to date, we have not been able to locate Mekayla, so there is information that is out there that somebody does know,” RCMP Insp. Jennifer Ebert stated.

At the news conference at RCMP F Division Thursday, several Bali family members were in attendance along with Yorkton Mayor Bob Maloney and a representative from the Missing Children’s Society of Canada.
