Herb Bassett Home named as benefactor of 2016 Field of Future

The 2016 crop for Field of the Future is now in the ground.

Redhead Equipment announced on Wednesday profits from this year’s crop would go to the Victoria Hospital Foundation to help pay for needed improvements at the Herb Bassett Home.

The Herb Bassett Home is a 142-bed long-term care facility in Prince Albert and there is a need for equipment and furniture replacement along with an update and expansion.

Field of Futures was launched in 2013 as a fundraiser for a chosen community organization. By planting, tending and harvesting almost 150 acres per year, the net proceeds are donated to a local group in need of assistance.

Last year over $53,000 was raised to support the Buckland Fire Department.
