Volunteer firefighters extinguish semi-trailer fire

There is still no word on the cause of Monday morning’s semi-trailer fire on Highway 11.

According to a spokesperson with the Hamlet of MacDowall, they received the initial call around 6:17 a.m.

By 6:30 a.m., six members of the volunteer fire department were on scene.

By 7 a.m., 1,250 gallons of water had been pumped out. The crew then returned to the hamlet and refilled the tank.

Two members of the volunteer crew remained at the scene until the trailer was loaded and cleaned up, which took until about 4 p.m.
