Ministry of environment helps with Earth Day cleanup

Apr 23, 2015 | 6:52 AM

To celebrate Earth Day, the provincial ministry of environment helped clean up north of the North Saskatchewan River.

On Wednesday morning, workers from the ministry took to the trees to start picking up the trash.

Around 9:30 a.m., workers showed up just outside the site where dumpers have been illegally tossing their trash in the Nisbet Forest — on the road to the landfill itself.

Spokesperson for the ministry Sarah Keith and landfills and conservation officer Casey Howey were at the site leading the clean-up team.
