Semi fire blocks Hwy 3 traffic

A semi truck on fire on Highway 3 near Birch Hills reduced traffic down to one lane late Tuesday morning.

The big rig was pulled over to the side of the road, but by the afternoon traffic was cleared. 

The man who was in the semi was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance after they responded aft 11 a.m. They report no other people were hurt in the fire.

paNOW is awaiting further information from the RCMP about this incident. 

The fire was not the only car accident on Tuesday.

Just east of Shellbrook on Highway 3 earlier in the morning Parkland Ambulance treated two people. They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
