City of P.A. proclaims “no parking” on snow routes

With all the snow falling on Friday, it may not come as a surprise to people that the City of Prince Albert is declaring a snow route parking ban.

The ban started late Friday afternoon, and means all streets marked with “no parking when declared” signs are now off limits.

The City states in a release that its snow clearing crews need empty streets to effectively clear the snow that’s been accumulating.

Most parking bans last about 48 hours or until Priority 1 routes are cleared, but persistent snowfall can force a renewed ban.

The City reminds people that vehicles not removed will be ticketed or towed.

Clear streets aren’t the only thing hindered by people who do not abide by the ban. They can be charged for the cost of towing. This bylaw was enacted last winter.
