Prince Albert family searches for closure

Oct 23, 2014 | 6:56 AM

It’s been over a week since Tim Charlette was last seen, but his family is not giving up hope.

The 27-year-old Prince Albert man was reported missing by family on Oct. 11. According to police, he was last seen on the evening of Oct. 8, in the area of the train bridge.

“His last Facebook post was on Oct. 7 and normally he goes on it daily. We’re just worried,” said Jennifer Whitedeer, Charlette’s older sister.

Whitedeer is helping to organize the search effort. They’ve set up a camp across from Little Red River Park, and on Wednesday were planning to take a boat down the river from the Cecil Ferry to the forks.

Whitedeer said she still believes her brother may be out there, but her mother has a different opinion.

“This elder said he’s by where they found Bea.”

On Oct. 12, the body of Beatrice Adam was discovered by two kayakers near the Prince Albert airport. Police believe Charlette and Adam were together that weekend.

“There are rumours people have seen him but none of our family has,” said Whitedeer.

Police continue to investigate Charlette’s disappearance.

Search efforts have included the North Saskatchewan River. Investigators have used both aircraft and water craft. So far, the searches have not turned up any evidence that would lead to his whereabouts.

“We just want to know whether he is dead or alive, we want to find him,” said Whitedeer.

She said anyone interested in helping with the search can contact Diane Arcand at (306) 930-6925.
