Missing Children Day raises awareness for the lost

May 26, 2012 | 8:30 AM

A child going missing is a parent's worst nightmare. May 25 is set aside to remember those children.

International Missing Children Day raises awareness about children who are abducted or runaway.

Charlene Semkiw with Child Find Saskatchewan said in an interview on the Richard Brown Show that consistently there are about 3,000 children a year who go missing in our province.

“Parental abductions are significantly higher than the stranger abduction numbers, but they're relatively low compared to the number of runaways,” she said.
