P. A.’s Fresh City opens for LMFAO

Christmas is coming early for three young electro-hop artists from Prince Albert who landed a gig opening for party rockers LMFAO in Saskatoon.

Off stage, Fresh City is made up of Troy Junker (19), Adam Wallace (20) and Tanner Fetch (19), but on

stage the three go by their pseudo names Capo, EhWall and Invincible.
For some time now the group has been lobbying representatives from Tequila Night Club in

Saskatoon to perform on the stage there. They will now get that chance at the LMFAO Official After Party on Dec. 15.

In an interview with Fresh City members Capo and Invincible, they said it will be a memorable show as not only will LMFAO Deejay the event but Fresh City will be introduced by the famous duo as well.

“We might be a little bit nervous right before we walk on stage but once we get up there and finish the first song it should be smooth sailing,” said Junker adding that the group is really just excited for this opportunity.

“I’m thinking it’s going to bring about other opportunities. We get to meet LMFAO and who knows where we could go from there,” said Fetch.

Fresh City started making music five years ago when they were in Grade 9. Wallace and Junker, who are originally from Regina, were buddies at Carlton Comprehensive High School. Fetch went to St. Mary High School and got to know the group through sports and friends.

Just like when they started, Fresh City’s music relies on the microphone and their vocals.
Their club-rap/electro-hop sound is created by mixing their own rapping with already manufactured beats bought from producers.

“We’ll all be kind of vibing or feeling the beat and our ideas instantly start flowing in our minds and we kind of agree on a topic. Once we each kind of have a verse or whatever written, we throw together a hook and it kind of comes together and that’s the song,” said Fetch.

Because they’re not held down by guitars or keyboards Fresh City is free to move around while performing and involve their audience.

“We try to be really energetic, get people on stage with us, sometimes we bring bottles of champagne on stage and let it pop off. Stuff like that,” said Junker.

For Fresh City putting on an entertaining and energetic show isn’t just fun, it’s also a business strategy.

“Kiss made their money off their shows, Deadmau5 make their money off their shows, because of their mouse heads and because of their costumes and stuff. It’s all about the show,” said Fetch.

During the event with LMFAO, Fresh City will be filming some of their performance for a music video.

“When we go on stage and stuff there will be clips from when we’re at that event,” said Junker.

“I encourage everybody to come out and partake in the video,” said Fetch.

Fresh City’s next big project will be releasing several new tracks with their Fresh City: Bottles Up EP (extended play).
