Guilty plea in Nipawin drug store break-in
The Shoal Lake man involved in breaking into a drug store in Nipawin last spring has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including assaulting two police officers.
Lucas Daniels, 34, who also goes by the last name McKay, wielded a knife and a hammer when he broke into a drug store on First Avenue West in Nipawin on April 23. RCMP said at the time that Daniels also tried to rob several people along with the business.
No one was hurt in the initial robberies, but Daniels pled guilty to assaulting the two RCMP officers who chased him and arrested him after he tried to evade arrest.
Daniels also pled guilty to two charges of using a weapon to break into the drug store and a vehicle, one count of wearing a disguise while committing a crime, and one count of possessing ammunition while under a ban from having it.
