On their quest to qualify for the Canada Summer Games, the Prince Albert Wrestling Club (PAWC) athletes ventured down to the Montana State Freestyle Tournament this past weekend in Missoula, MT.

All five of the PAWC wrestlers finished in the top six of their weight classes, with Owen Ferchuk getting a second-place finish, Bryn Cooper finished in fourth, Angel Besskkaystare and Landon Mudjar both ending up in fifth place in their weight divisions, while Logan Campbell finished in sixth place.

Cole Sanderson, who is a graduate of the Prince Albert Wrestling Club and a current member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies wrestling team, finished with a gold medal in his weight class in the senior division.

The PAWC athletes will compete in the final trials on May 14 at the Saskatchewan Wrestling Provincials in Saskatoon, hoping for a spot in the Canada Summer Games this summer in Niagara, Ont.
